THE BLACK HERALDS

There are blows in life, so strong ... I do not know.
Blows seemingly from God, as if before them,
the undertow of everything suffered welled
in the soul ... I do not know.

are few, but they are ...
opening dark furrows in the face fiercest and strongest back.
Perhaps they are the colts of barbaric Attilas;
or heralds Black Death sends us.

are the deep falls of the Christs of the soul,
of some adored faith blasphemed by Destiny.
Those bloody blows are the crackling
